A 10-year-old Indianapolis-based company is adding more than 1,100 new jobs throughout the state over the next five years.
Defender Direct is a national provider of security monitoring, alarms and satellite services.
Mayor Greg Ballard says Indianapolis will get 300 of those jobs as a result of the company’s decision to keep their headquarters here.
Governor Mitch Daniels says the state must support the growth of new companies like Defender Direct to replace the job erosion in older companies.
The company got state and local tax incentives for their 15-million dollar investment in new job creation.
Co-founder David Lindsey says his company currently employees 400 people in three locations statewide and may add a fourth along the I-74 corridor.
