INDIANAPOLIS (June 11, 2010) – Marion County Republican Party Chairman Tom John issued the following statement today concerning the announcement of Frank Anderson’s candidacy for State Senate District 31:
“Senator Jim Merritt is one of our state’s most effective and honest legislators. His pro-jobs, common sense voting record stands in stark contrast to Sheriff Anderson’s record of irresponsible spending and poor management. “Sheriff Anderson’s inability to restrain out of control budget growth or provide prudent stewardship in the face of the many Marion County residents losing their jobs and struggling to get by is not the kind of leader that voters want and need. In contrast, Senator Merritt has always fought for our families and communities while making sure government serves its citizens and lives within its means.
“The people of District 31 have trusted Senator Merritt to be their voice for 20 years. He has rewarded that trust with hard work and thoughtful leadership. I have no doubt that the voters will reward him with another term.”
