A realtor by profession, Sen. Vaneta Becker covers lots of ground in her efforts as a member of the Indiana General Assembly. She is a tireless advocate for strengthening communities and families.

Sen. Becker understands the legislative process thoroughly, thanks to her service in the Indiana House or Representatives prior to becoming a member of the Senate. Having been active in both chambers gives her keen insight into how key legislation gets passed.

Two of last session’s most important pieces of legislation – full-day kindergarten and educating young girls on the cervical cancer vaccine – were co-authored by Becker. She also had an active role in new laws that helped protect mobile home residents from tornados; ensured housing rights for victims of domestic violence; and authorized a regional economic development authority for job creation in the Evansville area.
